Develop the qualities of leadership
Do you recognize the
qualities that are needed to be a truly effective
leader? If so, do you know how to develop these
characteristics?
Six years ago, John
Maxwell wrote an acclaimed book, 21 Indispensable
Qualities of a Leader. It examined such
characteristics as charisma, listening, problem solving,
and initiative.
Pam Hillary has incorporated this text
into an interactive class that helps you to develop
these very qualities.
The 21
Indispensable Qualities of a Leader
are examined over a ten week period. Anywhere from 12-20
participants meet for two hours, every other
week.
Using videos, discussions, and presentations, two topics
are covered each session. Then students are encouraged
to practice each quality in real life and to reflect on
their meaning.
Discussions will
center on character, commitment, communication,
discernment, attitude, listening, vision, and many
others.
Becoming a leader
takes time. Leadership develops over time, not in a day.
Leaders are effective because of who they are on the
inside. And to reach this level of leadership
individuals have to develop these traits from the inside
out.
"Qualities" is
presented in an upbeat, casual, relaxed atmosphere where
discussion is encouraged and thoughts are shared.
